Meet Dr. James Laredo
Dr. Laredo serves as the Director of MVP’s Vascular Lab. He is board-certified in both Surgery and Vascular Surgery. Dr. Laredo is also one of only a few physicians in all of Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia to be credentialed as both a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) and Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Dr. Laredo earned both his PhD in Physiology and MD degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery training in Boston at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School and vascular surgery fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Laredo is a member of numerous medical and surgical societies including the Society for Vascular Surgery, the American Venous Forum, the American College of Phlebology and the American College of Surgeons.
In addition to his interest in arterial disease, Dr. Laredo also specializes in venous diseases and was one of the first physicians in the Washington DC and Northern Virginia area to perform the endovenous ablation procedure to treat patients with varicose veins and venous insufficiency.
