Recently, Dr. Jonathan Calure of Maryland Vein Professionals was featured on a segment produced by Fox 5 News in Washington, DC, called “Taking Back the Years”, in which he performed a live VNUS Closure® procedure. If you missed this excellent program, here’s a summary. You can watch it on the News section of the MVP website.
Fox 5 TV Reporter Claudia Coffey interviewed Dr. Jonathan Calure, who was one of the first physicians in the region to perform VNUS Closure® and is a nationally recognized leader in minimally invasive vein care. To date, he has performed more VNUS® Closure procedures than any other cardiovascular surgeon in America.
In these news clips, Dr. Calure performs a live procedure in his Columbia, Maryland office. A patient, Marcia Batista, who has been living with varicose veins for a while, said “Today is like Christmas”. She looked forward to the day when she could stop wearing capris in warmer weather, as well as stopping her legs from aching, itching and having bulges.
As surgical director, president, and founder of Maryland Vein Professionals, Dr. Jonathan Calure, M.D., was one of the first physicians in the region to perform VNUS Closure® and is a nationally recognized leader in minimally invasive vein care.
Dr. Calure performs about 50 VNUS® Closure procedures per week, 6 days a week, throughout the year. He said, “It takes about 2 hours door to door. The actual treatment is about 15 minutes and clients are usually out the door within 90 minutes. Because this is a minimally invasive technique, there is no cutting, very little discomfort, and patients feel a slight pressure and a little pinching, but that’s about it.”
